Airport Security Fence: ICAO-Compliant Perimeter Protection

Airports are among the most security-critical infrastructure in the world. A single breach in the perimeter can ground flights, trigger emergency responses, and expose operators to regulatory liability. BONKFC designs and manufactures airport security fencing systems engineered specifically to meet the demands of civil and military aviation environments — combining anti-climb mesh construction, corrosion-resistant coatings, and verified compliance with international aviation safety standards.

Whether you are upgrading an aging perimeter, specifying a new terminal extension, or procuring fencing for a full greenfield airport project, this page provides the technical details, product options, and project references you need to evaluate BONKFC as your supplier.

Why Airport Security Fencing Matters

Standard industrial security fencing is designed to deter intruders. Airport perimeter fencing must do significantly more — it must meet the frangibility and load requirements defined in ICAO Annex 14 and Doc 9137, withstand jet-blast forces near runway thresholds, prevent wildlife ingress that could cause bird strikes, and integrate cleanly with Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (PIDS), CCTV mounts, and access control gates.

Key functional requirements unique to aviation environments:

• Frangibility: Fences near Obstacle-Free Zones (OFZ) and Runway Strip areas must be frangible — designed to break away on aircraft impact without causing structural damage to the aircraft, as required by ICAO Annex 14, Section 9.9.

• Anti-climb & anti-cut performance: Mesh aperture must prevent footholds (typically ≤ 50 × 50 mm in high-security zones) and resist cutting tools per ASTM F2781 (Standard Practice for Testing Forced Entry Resistance of Security Fencing).

• Jet-blast resistance: Panels within 200 m of runway thresholds must withstand wind loads of up to 0.6 kPa and jet-blast velocities; structural calculations must be submitted for approval.

• Wildlife exclusion: Ground clearance below 100 mm and base plate or foundation skirt to prevent burrowing animals from accessing airside areas.

• Corrosion resistance: Salt-spray endurance of ≥ 3,000 hours for inland airports; ≥ 5,000 hours for coastal and island airports (ISO 9227).

• PIDS compatibility: Posts must accept mounting brackets for sensor cables, fiber-optic detection systems, and microwave barriers without requiring structural modification.

Quality Manufacturing & Technical Assurance

All BONKFC Fence airport fencing products are produced using Swiss-imported Schlatter welding equipment, ensuring consistent weld strength and mesh flatness.
We conduct:

Raw material inspection (tolerance ± 0.5 mm)

Cross-cut adhesion tests after powder coating

Salt-spray corrosion test exceeding 5,000 hours (ISO 9227)
Our two automated powder-coating lines ensure fast delivery for large-scale airport projects.

Manufacturing & Quality Assurance

All BONKFC airport fencing products are produced at our 35,000 m² manufacturing facility in China, using equipment and processes certified to ISO 9001:2015. Our quality assurance chain covers raw material incoming inspection through to finished product testing and pre-shipment audit.

• Welding equipment: Swiss-imported Schlatter automated resistance welding lines — consistent weld shear strength ≥ 350 N per intersection on 3.0 mm wire

• Galvanizing: In-house hot-dip galvanizing bath, zinc deposition controlled to ≥ 200 g/m² (verified by magnetic thickness gauge on every batch)

• Powder coating: Two automated electrostatic powder-coating lines with AkzoNobel Interpon D1010 polyester powder; curing temperature 200°C / 20 min; cross-cut adhesion test every production run

• Salt-spray test chamber: 3 × Ascott cabinet (capacity 1,000 litre); all export batches receive 240-hour salt-spray spot-check; Type B airport mesh receives full 5,000-hour certification test

• Pre-shipment inspection: Third-party QC (SGS or Bureau Veritas) available on request; BONKFC QC team conducts 100% dimensional check and 5% weld pull-test on every airport order

Airport Project References

The following projects represent a selection of completed airport perimeter fencing installations. References and project documentation are available to verified procurement contacts upon request.

Project 1 — International Airport Terminal Expansion, Southeast Asia (2023)
